ECG engine block is a 55-57 272 produced at the Dearborn Iron Foundry
the cylinder head numbers didn’t show up in my search. Did they have little disc rotaters on the valve stems at the top? I’ll assume they are sodium filled valves
Edit
the head number looked like EOZ -G but if it’s a sloppy casting I can see where it was a ECZ-G
ECG is a 272 block. One of your photos shows a ECZ-G head. They are most desirable. I think the date code was 1957 on the head. The y blocks look the same physically, you have a good starting point. Your truck would have come with an EBU or EBV block originally. You could probably turn your 272 into a 292 by boring larger. Should have the block sonic checked first. Before I knew what I was doing I had my 239 y block bored +.125 turning it into a 256 y block. I have since added a crank from a 312 and my 239 y block now measures 283”. Dennis

Merry Christmas to you too.
You've gotten good advice from two of our many knowledgeable Yblock guys. About the tranny question. Most F350's were four speeds with first gear a granny gear. They could order the optional heavy duty 3 speed with the remote shifter on the column.
