Hello, So I have the standard Window and radio intermittent issue on my 2003 F350 7.3,, Bang the dash in the 1 o'clock position of the cluster,
tends to get it working again...
I'd like to FIX IT!!!
So I found some literature online regarding re-soldering the accessory delay relay to the cluster. I figured I could do that. However I'd like to re-solder a completely new accessory delay relay to the cluster. can I purchase one of those??
Then I got to thinking. Is it possible to just have the cluster rebuilt and or refurbished completely?? If so, what company..
The other think i worry about, I'm not the best DIYer. If I mess up the project I noticed there are a ton of clusters online for sale, in the 100 dollar range.
However on those listings it reports the miles. If I have to put a different cluster in.. Will I have to use the Mileage on that Cluster?? How is that legal?
Jeff, I Purchased a replacement cluster off of eBay with my odometer quit working and I was unable to fix that little worm gear. I simply changed the two far left numbers from (example) 420,313 to 370,313, I made note of it in my maintenance book and I think in the end I was off maybe six or 7000 miles. The farther right you go the smaller the gears get and are easier to break in my opinion. In Colorado after a certain number of years they don’t pay attention to the odometer anyway and when you’re talking 300,000 miles plus if you’re off even 10,000 miles big deal .
There’s several sellers on eBay that will fix your cluster for you also .
Thanks Colorado, after posting I actually Googled it, and I can see there are several places that will rebuild for about 120$ I think I may do that to stay on the safe side. .
