2018 6.2 takes forever to fill gas tank

Is there a known issue or a fix for this? Takes forever to fill the tank and it’s getting worse it seems, wasn’t this bad last time I filled it up.

I have a 2019 and granted I only filled up once so far but I didn’t have any issues. I haven’t read about any either

I read something about plugged vents causing fill up woes. Might try searching for that.

Is it kicking the handle off?

Yes constantly kicking the handle off. And it’s not the handle, I can see it bubbling back up the neck like it’s full. If I held the handle open just slightly to fill really slow it was ok.

Had that issue when I was in Cali but not in other states, I think it's the pump handles used there.

The vent is probably plugged. I believe on yours the vent end is next to the fuel fill. I read that some guys are rerouting the vent up into the engine compartment where it is out of the dust. My old boss had to do that on his 2011 because he was having the same problems as you, moving the vent to the front solved it.

I have a 2019 with 3500 miles on it. This happened to me twice. I did nothing to fix it and it stopped. I live in Jersey which probably has the same pumps as Cali with vapor return BS. When filling a motorcycle you need to pull the foreskin back or it keeps clicking off. It definitely has something to do with venting but I doubt its dust or contamination clogging the vent. I dont know why mine stopped but this past fill up the pump jockey asked me if it was full because he was aware many of these trucks shut off before they are full.

I have the problem with my 2017 for about 4-5fills in a row then it's good for just about a year before it rears its ugly head. When it happens the first time I go to full service after that until prob is cleared up again.

my 2017 does it... dealer says it works fine on their pump, and it is the HIGH SPEED PUMPS stations use these days...

My 16 has the same issue. There’s a couple of gas stations I avoid because of the slow filling. It fills fine at some pumps other pumps have a shut off on me after about 5 gallons.

My 18' did this for a while when I first bought it, but recently it hasn't been an issue.

I found that fuel nozzles that have a rubber boot around them often trigger it more then those that don't.

My local gas station updated their pumps and I haven't had an issue since.
