Soldered the radiator and filled it with fluid today........let it run enough to circulate the fluid from the rad to the block and back. When i went to restart it, it began to crank then just stopped. At first i thought it was siezed.....I took a wrench to the crank and it was free, now i'm thinking i fried the solinoid cranking it? any therories?

Could be:

1. battery
2. battery cable
3. solenoid
4. starter motor cable
5. any of the grounding cables
6. starter-to-bell housing flanges aren't providing a good ground
7. ignition switch
8. wires to/from ignition switch

To find out which, check for voltage across the starter input terminal and case with the ignition switch in the start position. Got voltage - your starter is fried. Work your way back to the battery.
