I have a 2019 F350 with the heavy duty front suspension (due to choosing the Electronic Locking Differential) with the 5990lb front springs. My door jamb sticker says 80psi rear and 60psi front. I describe this information simply for reference purposes. Shortly after getting the truck in December 2018, I tested the TPMS system to see where the light came on. It illuminated at -35% on both the front and rear, 52psi on the rear and 39psi on the fronts. I posted this information on this forum and was surprised to have more than one person reply that their low-pressure light came on at much higher pressures in the same model Super Duty Ford Truck. It is unfathomable that the factory settings of the TPMS system would react differently on trucks of the same size.
Unfortunately I can’t answer the OP’s question as to how to reset the TPMS triggering pressures. I would find it very user unfriendly if the only way to change the triggering pressures is by using Forescan. I haven’t lowered and raised my tire pressures with this truck for two reasons: I am a full time RVer pulling a moderately heavy travel trailer most of the time, and the truck bed is always nearly fully loaded. As such, it rides very well with the recommended inflation pressures of 80 rear and 60 front. However, I may want to change pressures in the future. I did purchase a TPMS Triggering Tool in case I needed to reset the wheels after rotating them if I did my own rotation. I haven’t used it yet. I’m wondering if using that tool resets the TPMS triggering pressures also since the process does involve the truck’s computer(s).
Yup. Do what Tricon said. I've kept my tire pressures at 60F/50R since I picked it up new and have just been ignoring the light on the dash for 8 months. Well today, I had to get out Forscan anyways, so I finally changed the threshold to 55psi on the rear. After a 1/2 mile drive, the light is off and no warning on start-up.
