Door Lock Key

I have only one rectangular headed key for my 64 F100, and it will not turn either door lock. Is the door lock key different or are my locks just frozen?

good possibility after 50+ yrs that someone changed the ignition switch, I took the door and ignition tumblers out and made one key for both on my 66, still need to do it on my 63, note to self, ask me how I know , have the beers AFTER doing it, not while doing it!

Originally both door lock cylinders and the ignition cylinder were keyed alike and when new, came with two keyed alike keys.

Over time, people replaced one or more of the cylinders, so now...you could have 3 different keys.

The door and ignition lock set (C3AZ-6222050-B) is the same: 1961/66 F100/1100 & 1963/64 Galaxie and probably has been reproduced.

Door locks

If you want to keep the lock cylinders you have you can remove them and take them to a locksmith. He can use the number stamped on it to make a new key.

Majority of the Ford part supplier's carry the 1 key set for the Ignition and Door Locks, cost approx. $40, likely imported but possibly at a lower cost than having work done by locksmith?

Speaking of door locks (not to hijack this thread), was there originally a rubber pad under the lock to keep it from wearing all the paint off of the door? I remember seeing them for sale in a slick parts catalog several years ago, but didn’t know if they were on there when new. I think not, but others might know better.

Could be mistaken, have come across 'door handle' and 'door handle name plate' rubber pads but do not recall coming across the 'key lock' pad. Perhaps more knowledgeable member will chime in?

None as original, see 21984 door lock cylinder in pic. If there was a pad, there would be a basic part number shown for it.

I figured that would be the case. Just for kicks, I looked to see if I still had the catalog from Carolina Classics and lo and behold, I held onto it from 2000. I think I tried to order it and it wasn’t available any longer. If it was something that they were trying out, it must not have worked out too good.
Screen shot here,

I see that this comes with lock pads! Too bad I don't need the locks, I wouldn't mind having the pads .
