I was sad when you had to sell your truck six months ago. But now I'm very happy to hear that you have a new project to tinker with. Congratulations and have fun getting to know your new friend.

Thank Jim. I was darn near heartbroken over it. I've been looking for one ever since. This one is going to be a bit more work, but I know what I've signed on for. I'm looking forward to getting started.
I am slightly frustrated at the moment. I purchased the truck on ebay. It seems to have "lost" the fan assembly and shroud before it got delivered to me. Also the radiator got torn up in the process.(Although, it probably wasn't good to begin with. PO claims no knowledge. I'm sure if I talk to the shipper they will say the same.
Thanks Abe. It doesnt run currently. I may try to see if I can get it running as it currently sits, but Im also planning on taking everything off the frame and doing a rebuild from the ground up.
Congratulations on the new project. I hope you will have the health, drive, and stamina to complete it. And of course, there is the money issue. But as a labor of love, practicality sometimes takes a back seat.
Here's a few more photos. I pulled the seat today. It's in poor shape and smells of rodents.
You can't tell from this photo, but that side mirror is welded into place.
If only I could share how badly that seat smelled.
Also, noticed this on the frame. There's a plate welded on the other side of this, as well as one on the other framemrail, in pretty much the same location.
I have a complete Fan Assembly - from Generator Bracket to the 8 Blade Fan.
Clean, very clean. Let me know.
It was replaced by the power steering pump and fan assembly.
If you are going to put in power steering, the I suggest that you forget about a stock fan assembly, and put your power steering pump in its place.
Mine runs a mechanical fan too. Except for hoses, looks just like Old Henry might have designed it.
Worked on the truck a little today. I removed the tailgate. It's bent and busted. With a little work it might be a decent piece of wall art, but there's no saving it for the truck. I'm still planning on taking this down to the frame, so I started working to remove the bed and the custom hitch that's welded to it. I forgot how stubborn these old bolts can be. Got tired, switched to cleaning up the cab. I got the tool tray out, and dumped it. Found the hood latch dowel and the carburetor spring. So I won't need to buy replacements for those. I also found what appears to be a learner's permit from 1968.
Also found the remnants of a social security card from the same person. Not posting that for obvious reasons.
I also noticed today that a head bolt was missing. After further investigation, I believe that it's broken off in the block. That pretty much killed any thoughts I had to seeing if I could get this motor to start. Oh well, I've got another one here that I started working on for a rebuild. I'll just use that one.
I am wondering what your plan is? Gonna keep it original? I am really liking the thought of original these days. I appreciate that much more than what I have done to myself! (not even close to original)
I think my next one will be stock.
