Installed Centramatic Rings on my F450! Love them so far!

I put these on my 2017 F450 King Ranch because the balancing beads from Magnum Plus AND the brand that "Southern Tire Mart" uses did not address the balancing issues I was having with my new Toyo M608Z Tires. I could not find a shop that stocked the TAL size clip on weights, so I was stuck with either buying an assortment of TAL Weights and hoping I got enough (and the correct sizes) to do all the tires or coming up with an alternative solution. The folks at Centramatics saw my plite and offered to send me a full set of their rings to review and provide honest feedback on. I had them installed last week prior to a 400mile trip. WOW, they really work amazingly well. It's kind of funny because you can clearly hear the steel ***** rolling around inside of them when the windows are down. Sounds like your spraying water against your driveway. I had the inner dually tires balanced using standard weights (confirmed that this was ok with Centramatics), but I had all the other weights (stick on weights that were in the front tires) and beads removed. Anyhow, here is the video I posted today showcasing their installation. I will post a followup video in the days to come regarding their success on my recent trip.

Enjoy

Good people at Sames. I flew into Corpus to buy my F250 and the sales staff were just as easy to deal with as the Quick Lane people.

How do the Toyo's compare to the Continental's with noise and wandering? Did you consider the Toyo 920?

Wow, the other purpose they solve is they act as brake dust cover. I have been looking for dust covers, but nobody makes them for a F450. I have the "Kleen Wheels" dust covers on my 2005 expedition and my 2007 chevy 2500 duramax, the factory aluminum wheels look like new on the chevy, the expedition is just starting some of the clear coat cracking. without the Kleen Wheels, they would have been destroyed a long time ago. I will be ordering a set of these tomorrow for my 2018 F450 that just turned 1766 miles, mainly as dust covers, the balance will also be a benefit. i do not have a balance issue, i personally put in the good balance beads, no bag, i wonder if i can leave them in???? I will ask centramatic tomorrow.

I considered the 920s as steer tires, but the parts guy said that the 608z was a great steer tire also. They are nosier, but not so much that it bothers me. They don't seem to wonder as much as my Continentals though. I'll report back after I get some more miles on them.

Thanks for the feedback on these.

I have a minor shake with my OEM F450 setup. I wonder if just putting the rings in the back would solve it. I suspect the issue is with the duals. Thoughts?

Also, why remove the weights? Wouldn't it be better to start with being close to balanced?

Finally, anyone have thoughts on centramatics vs balance master?

I prefer the Centramatics because there are far more positive reviews around the web from OTR and Regional Haul truckers. Many OEMs are now installing them with new vehicles and trailers.
I had requested that they keep the weights on the front, but because they were weight and bead balanced before, the inventor at Centramatics said to remove everything and just run the rings. The rings have enough material in them to balance out any weight unbalance though.

Oh wait, I guess I shouldn't be surprised to find you here, I just didn't realize you were a member.

Your channel helped me tip the scales on going with that Ruby Red color on my new 19`. Mid September can't come fast enough!

I look forward to your long term review -

Im goin to try these on my truck when swap to the BFG's. I don't want any weights on my aluminum wheels.

Thanks for the review.

If you wanted to just try one pair, would you do fonts or backs first?

I would likely suggest you do the rear. Since the front can be balanced using stick on weights.
