Front axle dust covers/wheel seals/what are these?
Been awhile since I've been here. 90,000 miles actually. Anyway I'm replacing some front end parts. Ball joints, tie rods, etc. and appropriate seals along the way and can't figure out what I need here. The rubber seals/boots on either side of the axle Ujoint. I've read and watch all sorts of stuff but still don't know. They seem to be called dust covers, wheel seals or something else. Many vids and writeups don't even mention them and at least one parts diagram doesn't show the inboard one that is in my picture. Found a couple threads where guys said don't worry about them you don't need them. I've found possible part numbers but when I look them up one source will call it an outer seal and the next will call it an inner seal or spindle seal or some other name. I'm completely confused. If anyone has part numbers for these both passenger and driver, inner and outer I'd really appreciate it. And are they really necessary?

The inner one I have never seen in use in my area in over 50 years
Thanks farmert I'm on my way to Napa to check those out. By the way, if anybody cares the "other" name I was coming up with was "axle tube seal" That must be the inner one. It looks the same as the outer but is 1/8 or 3/16" smaller in diameter. Those ones are in decent shape on my truck so I think I'll quit worrying about them and just replace the one in the link.
