It was expensive when it was new too, you probably could've gotten a Lincoln for the $6700 or whatever it was. Nice rig, but it needs a cab lift to match the cab up to the bed which is apparently lifted by the dump-bed kit it has. I also see evidence that it's been stored outside for some length of time: A little rust on the rims, and the gauge needles appear slightly faded.
But if his is worth just $11,000 shy of six figures, then mine has got to be worth close to $10,000...
What makes this thing a time capsule? It certainly did not come from the factory looking like this!
Besides being repainted and reupholstered, it has all sorts of modifications that deviate from the original.
Pic of Warranty Plate shows COLOR code: A = Raven Black // BODY code: DA3 .. DA = Black all Vinyl-Custom; 3 = Flareside Pickup.
btw: 1978 Lincoln would have been close to 10 grand. My loaded 1979 F150 Lariat Stupor Cab was $7100.00 otd (out the door) and this was dealer net cost + 10%
Sorry to be that guy, but it's a STEP SIDE. Flareside is a 90s term. Uh huh, .................................................
Ford = Flareside, a stepside is a Chevrolet.

+1 ND! When I bought my ‘87 F150 4x4 brand new it was called a flareside by the dealer as well! By the way the dealership
is still in business and is owned by my brother in law and they started the dealership back in the late ‘60s. Him and his dad and
brother would correct me if I ever called it a step side!
If he needs more lead to balance that left front tire he's going to have to throw it inside the tire!
Holy wheel weights Batman! Not just one tire either!
I like how original the rear bumper is, the aftermarket clock on the left side of the dash, aftermarket switch’s and lights (probably for the dump box), steering wheel, door panels and the list goes on!

You are correct. My parents bought a new Lincoln Continental in 1976 and paid nearly 11 grand. Seemed like a fortune when I was a kid.
