Custom dash cluster 2002 to 2008

So I’ve seen people do a dash swap and I’m thinking of it, but the gauge cluster I heard is a pain. I’ve seen people with custom made clusters and wanna know where to get them. Or if there’s a way to get the 2008 cluster work. Let me know thanks in advance.

You be better off to give us a wee bit more information about your truck and engine. There are threads on here where guys have done some swaps but it sure wasnt any picnic to do it. Some threads on fellas who are doing it or have done it

thanks for the threads, I’ll check em out. I was planning to do this on a 1999-2002 7.3. Most likely the old cluster rather than the 6.0 styled cluster

Well if you look at the reads above you will see what can be done as some of the folks that have done it have chronicled in there threads. The biggest challenge your going to face is making your gauges work on the cluster and the controls for radio heating/ ac /defrost etc so adding wire and what not to meld things or to run new wires to make some items working work

The one thing you will need though is a donor dash with the cluster, if you could find a wrecked truck and grab the dash and as much of the other stuff you think you may need ( harnesses, fuse box, steering wheel and column unless your keeping your old column and steering wheel ) that I think will help a lot

But I would give those threads a good read and ask some questions about items that are crucial that you need to have from a wrecked truck or donor truck to the guys that are doing it or have done it, I am sure they'd be happy to help answer them
