Sync3 Alternative
I liked the look of MFT. I wish Ford actually put a good processor behind it and actually let Microsoft do the full programming to really get it right. Ford just didnt it right at all. But the interface was spot on in my opinion.
Sync3 looks too simple and something out of the 90's. I'm not a fan. I don't have an android or apple phone and for the foreseeable future dont see myself getting one. I don't want to have to rely on the phone to power the infotainment system. I want it to be a complete system. Sync3 may be more responsive, actually have a capacitive touchscreen but the UI is horrendous. Horrendous!!
I want to:
1) See if there are any aftermarket alternatives that will work in place of Sync3 and give the same, if not more, features.
2) If I need to put something together, can I remove Sync3 completely?
3) By 2021 model year cars, which the Bronco is allegedly going to be released for, is Ford coming out with a Sync4?
Doubt you'll be able to change anything without tremendous expense, and since Ford is just phasing in Sync3, I would expect any changes to be evolutionary and slight. It would be far cheaper for you to buy an iPhone and an Android phone than to change over car electronics. And far easier to learn the Sync3 interface than to replace the system.
