Front Tires balanced twice, still 55-70 mph shaking?
Any direction would be greatly appreciated as I'm wondering what to do here. I purchased a 2012 F-250 a few weeks back. I noticed what seemed like out of balanced tires when I test drove it. The seller had them rebalanced and told me at time of sale it was much much better but it still had the 50-70 mph wobble. So I called him and he said take it to a tire shop and have them rebalanced and send him the bill, he'd reimburse me. Did that, and still they wobble, not as bad, but still, so took them back again, and tire store said they would do one more complimentary balance, which they did, and STILL wobble b/t 55-70 mph. Tire store told me if it continues it may be a bad tire. These are new wheels and tires (seller had them installed and mounted, along with a leveling kit before purchasing). What direction should I go in this situation?
since you are focused on just the tires....are you saying with other tires there is no shaking?????
basically, front end shaking could be
tires
hub bearings
ball joints
steering system play
loose body mounts
drive train isolation - play in universal joints , etc
elongated rim mounting bolt holes - rims not sentered
elongated hub mounting holes - hub not centered
So where would the best place be to get all these checked at once, and any idea what someone should charge to check it? Thank you.

out of round tire... inner tire belt shifted during manufacturer.
wheel to tire not meeting true/center.
wheel out of round...
and everything posted above.
What air pressure are you running... soft or Hard..?
on mine empty I run 50 psi.. and have a little shake at 60mph.. but at 65psi and loaded.. none...
stock size tires and wheels.
Find a Ford Truck fleet dealership... not a Ford car dealership.
of find a independent truck repair shop. with a Truck front end rack
if the truck ran right before the new tires, and it was correctly balanced twice, my money is on out-of-round tires. I've seen this problem before with, um.. 'value' priced tires made in China or Whereverthe****istan, Eastern Europe.
Try and find a shop that road force balances them. They will be able to tell you if you have a bad tire or not due to the process they go thru for balancing.
This is the best method for large tires.
Some swear by balancing beads too but I have never tried that.
Thanks everyone. I have not ever driven this truck with other tires on it, as I just purchased it with these tires on it. I'll see what I can find out. Thanks everyone, I'll check back what it was/is.
Use Hunter's website to find a store that uses the GPS9700 balancer.
In my shop I had a relatively good Coats balancer. Couldn't get my new tires from Tire Rack to run good on my Superduty. The manufacturer rep told me I had to get the special adaptors for the SD wheels. Got them, and still couldn't balance out. And I tried multiple times, even asked one of my employees to do my set in case I was doing something wrong.
Ended up going to a local shop that had the road force balancer. They found one of the tires to have a belt issue. So they did all the tires, the one the best they could. Road the best it had. Tire Rack send out a new tire once they got the printout, the new tire installed and balanced well. The next capital expenderature cycle I bought a GPS9700 for the shop.
All the guys in the shop were impressed how well it did, other company employees from 100 miles away started to come down to get their tires rebalanced. It works good.
In fact now that my facility is closed by corporate, tomorrow I'm scheduled to be at the shop that guided me to the Hunter to get my wife's car tires balanced.
Road Force Balance. I went through this ordeal with my 37x12.5x20s. Tried beads=didnt work, tried balance and rebalance at local truck shop=didnt work. Drove an hour to a road force place and smooth as a 8k lbs truck can be with 37 inch tires on it!
