Anyone got any pics of the oil lines they can share? I have seen lines going outside the manifold and inside. I think I have all the right fittings but need to make new stainless lines and want them to look like original. Having a hard time finding original though.
Wow..I like what you guys did..here's mine thinking I needed to keep it away from the exhaust manifold as mush as possible.
I'm going to be a copy cat..thanks
Look at the way F-1 (above) did his at the block. You're better off making a bend in the tubing, IMO, than using an elbow. What are the chances the elbow will be pointing straight up when fully tightened? Not great. To do like he did, you need a NPT-to-flare adapter. If you really want the elbow, it's a hardware store item.
Yes, the lines are 1/4". Do you have an orifice fitting?
Not exactly correct for your year, but the '51-'53 factory way of plumbing it is to have the sender in a Tee up near the canister, where there is easy access. Once the engine is in the truck, you have to be a contortionist to get at the sender on the BH. Easiest way is by taking out the tunnel cover and using a stubby wrench, flat by flat.
Yes I have the restrictor going into the canister and picked up a 1/4 to 1/8 adapter today that should allow me to use either an elbow or straight 1/8 to flare. The tee would be nice but finding it without spending $100 on a whole canister has been tough, and I still would have the same fittings coming out of the block just in the top port. The elbow is going to look a lot cleaner if I can get it to line up.
