My F450 platinum didn't come equipped with the 360 camera. Is there any way that this option can be added later down the road? I checked with my dealer and they told me those parts aren't available yet. Anyone know if the wires are already there and I just need to get the mirrors and the grille and hook everything up?

 

I would think at minimum it would require new mirrors, front camera and tailgate camera if you do not have it

 

I really just want the front camera. I have the one on the tailgate, and the one on the back of the cab.

 

My dash cam (Rexing V1P) came with a rear camera on a cord that is about 14' long. You have the option to "reverse" the image so it could be used in the front. This may be a viable and very inexpensive option (compared to OEM) if you only want a front camera.

 

I was quizzing a Ford Senior Tech about something similar. Here was his response to me.

As for the wiring, Ford has option specific wiring harnesses, along with modules and programing. Ford has fallen deep into the module and wiring being VIN# specific. The wiring harnesses are also VIN# specific. They have tags on the harnesses to identify which harness is needed to be ordered when we have to replace them at the dealership. The old universal harnesses are no longer around.

 

Well that's not really good news. Hopefully something aftermarket comes available that will integrate into the front display.
