I have a 2014 F150 STX that I bought bought 2 weeks ago. It has a column mounted shift lever for the 6 speed automatic transmission. For the first week or so there were indicators on the dash immediately above the PRNDM21 indicator that showed what gear the truck is in. The indicator showed 1-6 as the truck up-shifted (or down-shifted). It has not worked for the last week. I confess I have been playing with some of the optional setting and the SYNC functions. I don't know if I mistakenly turned something off or this is an actual fault.
Any insight you might provide would be appreciated.
Nothing is wrong, I went through that same thing in my 2011.
On your gear selector there are buttons that point up and down. Push the up button, that should bring you gear light back.
Funny thing I went through the 500 plus page owners manual and did not find a reference to using the + and - on the shifter to control that display. Glad some of you here could set me straight.

We're all here to help and learn. I've been through the same thing.
