Got tired of the chrome/black handles, and ordered these.http://www.ebay.com/itm/04-14-Ford-F150-Gloss-Black-4-Door-Handle-keypad-PSG-KH-Tailgate-Cover-Combo-kit/131589405511?_trksid=p2060778.c100275.m3474&_trkparms=ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140723144412%26meid%3D65cafb085e3c4ab7b82234692d2ed961%26pid%3D100275%26Then had them PTMed by a very good local body shop. Perfect match!
Cleaned everything with alcohol, then heated things up with my heatgun. 3M doublestick tape, should be fine.
I had bought a set and put them on to see how they fit. I plan on buying another set and painting them. Glad you posted. Now I know they will look good. Way cheaper than PTM OEM handles.
I'd really like to do that vary same thing to the black plastic handles on my truck. I haven't checked on the handle prices for a Super Crew, and tailgate, and get them painted to match that Kodiak. The prices may change my wanting them.
Nice Mod
Thankfully mine was OE PTM otherwise I'd have to do the same thing. My SuperDuty was OE PTM also (1st truck I had w/that) at this point I could never have anything but PTM handles, guess these 2 trucks spoiled me...lol
Thanks guys, I'm liking them.I think the only thing I should have done differently, would have been to remove the 3M tape from behind the indent on the handle covers. They fit pretty good, but I think that would've made them fit even better. The tape behind the indent, tends to shim them out ever so slightly.
Bob, that link is for a Screw, it's the only set I found with all handles and plates included. So, you're price on those would be the same, but painting them would likely be more since you'd have four additional parts to be PTMed. Then again, the shop I use tends to be high end, but worth every cent of the $100 bucks I spent. I couldn't have gotten that quality by doing it myself.
He's going to do a few more things for me in Spring, plus, he's a true car guy, so a 15 minute visit usually is a lot longer.
Pay attention to the front right [passenger] door. With the keypad on the drivers door, there is no keyhole on that side. It didn't matter to me, I just used one of the scuff plates for the backdoor.

I appreciate that link that price isn't bad at all. I do think I'll check with a few local body shops and get a few prices and see if I can make it happen. I'd also like to paint my side mirrors, they're black, just like the door handles.

I think that would look good!Just don't forget about that passenger door key hole.
