So I want to document the work I do to my 1995 F150 that I recently acquired. I've wanted to buy this particular truck for a longgg time. It belonged to my neighbor who daily drove it for 10 or so years. He finally agreed to sell it to me last month and wouldn't let me pay him any more than $300 for it, as he felt it was in really bad shape and didn't want me to be disappointed with it. I actually have a history with this truck too. While working my first job at a body shop, about 6 years ago, my neighbor brought this truck in for us to repair rust and repaint the truck. We put a new core support, new bed sides, new doors, new fenders and new rockers and cab corners on it and totally repainted it. So I had already done a lot of work to this truck before I even bought it. Still, 6 years of Pennsylvania winters have taken a toll on this truck, so it's in need of a going over again.
Anyways, with further delay, here it is- the truck is a 1995 Ford F-150 XLT Extended Cab 8 foot bed. It has a 5.0 L V8, M5OD 5 Speed Manual. It is a 4x4 with manual engagement, and Warn premium manual locking hubs. It has a limited slip 3.10-ish Ford 8.8 rear and a Dana 44 TTB front axle(I was told also limited slip). The truck has power windows and locks, steering and brakes. Seats and mirrors are manual and it doesn't have keyless entry. It didn't come with a radio, so I'll be searching the junkyards for one. The colors are Calypso Green and White on grey interior. It has 158,000 miles.
Things I will doing to the truck-
1. I beat on the frame with a 3 lb hammer and found it has some pinholes, I had a trusted local frame shop look at it, they said it won't be an issue to repair.
2. Body work- I will be replacing the front floor pans, cab mount supports, drivers side rocker panel, and passenger side B pillar dogleg. I'll also be patching some parts of the bed floor as well as the drivers side rear wheel arch.
3. Both bumpers will be replaced. The rear is bent and rusted and the front is a painted bumper and should be chrome.
4. POR-15 the floor pans and undercarriage.
5. Replace the filthy smelly carpet.
6. Replace missing/broken trim. Taillights, and headlight bezels especially.
7. New window sweep seals.
8. Raptor Line the inside of the bed.
