300 straight 6 carbureted with AOD transmission upgrade
I was wondering if anyony had done this before? And if so, can you help me with a solution for my TV cable bracket set up understanding i may need to mock up somethings. Are there any parts that i can order to assist this project?? Somebody, anybody lmbo???
You will need a zero Balance flexplate from 300 with a FMX or big bell C4. I believe the part number is C5TZ-6375-T. And you will need the shift linkage from a truck that had the AOD The TV cable will have to be fabbed or an after market one.

Ford used a TV rod for the carbureted models. The TV cable started showing up with EFI models. If you have a donor transmission from a carbureted six, the linkage on the transmission will have provisions for a TV rod. You cannot use your carburetor if you want to use the AOD with a TV rod. You will need to get a replacement stock carburetor that has the correct TV linkage on the carburetor for the TV rod to connect to.
Check RockAuto for a replacement carburetor for your year model "w/overdrive."
The AOD TV rod will not work with an aftermarket carburetor! If you use an aftermarket carburetor, you will need to use an aftermarket TV cable instead.
