I bought a 07 F350 without a front bumper. I have purchased a replacement aftermarket bumper and it seems like it is almost 2 inches too wide. I have checked and rechecked and the parts that i am using are the correct replacement part for my truck but i am trying to figure out why my fitment is sooo bad
Here are some pictures,
This one, if i line it up on the drivers side this is how far off it is on the passenger side
Even around the bumper pad and the grill has a huge gap
More picks would be helpful but that looks like a 2008+ bumper to me. My 2007 has a nice round curve on the sides. It also has the plastic insert on the top that matches it to the body.
I just put an aftermarket one on my 2007 F250. The edge is not supposed to be perfectly flush with the fender as far as I can tell and from looking at the factory one I took off. It will stick out slightly on either side. Maybe 1/2 inch?
Get the bumper centered first, tighten the 4 bolts by the tow hooks, then deal with the sides. With the rest of the the bolts loose, I had a buddy push the edge in as far as he could. I was laying under the truck and quickly snugged the side bolts down. It will spring back slightly but you will get a much better fit. Do this to both sides as required. Hope this helps.
