Got a Flareside. Thinking of doing a four link rear on it. Has anyone tackled doing it yet? It is a two wheel drive F100.

No one on here has done it that I have ever seen. I have seen it done on a few other websites. Very nice, very fancy, and a lot of money and a lot of work. I am not sure if they make a kit for these trucks, they do make universal fit kits.

The factory used leaf springs because they are simple and cheap.

Kind of hard to say "Yay or Nay" when we do not know how the truck will be used.

If like a truck and the bed will have a load or pulling a heavy trailer Nay on the 4 link.

If used as a hot rod, no load in bed or pulling a trailer then Yay.

4 links work good for hauling and pulling trailers also. They are just an all around better rear suspension design. But they are more complicated and expensive.

No more wheel hop/spring wrap.

No more changes in pinion angles when loaded.

Better ride

Adjustable

They make kits for the 99-up f350's.

They also have a lot more wear points to keep an eye on.
I hate the IFS on the new 4x4 trucks and how fast they wear out parts like ball joints and pivot point bushings.
Never had that happen on a straight axle 4x4 even after 230k on it.
just my .02
