I currently have a 2014 F350 King Ranch CCSB with 54k miles and I also have a 4yr/100k bumper to bumper warranty as well. I have had the radiator replaced, pass side mirror replaced, and one dpf sensor replaced under warranty. Other than these three things the truck been great.
My buddy just traded in his '13 for a new '17 and he said is it was quite the upgrade. Power difference was very noticeable as well as the ride. The '17 sat nearly 6" taller than his '13 F-350. He also said the new Sync 3 was way better than the old Sync. My biggest interest is the larger cab and the rear seat that folds up for a flat floor for the dog.
I tow a 14,000 fifth wheel and was debating to go dually but love the CCSB. I had leased a Honda Civic to run back and forth to work (@65 miles per day) but my son will start driving next summer and will likely let him drive the Civic or or buy him $1500 car to drive back and forth to school. I know the dually would be better match for the fifth wheel but not sure I want to be rolling everywhere in a dually. My current F-350 has towed our 5'er perfect for the last year.
With that said I could probably sell mine privately and get just a few thousand less than I paid for it. The truck is immaculate condition! Now the price of a new one for exactly what I have stickers for about 10-12,000 more than mine and there is only a $1000 rebates on the new one. Just trying to figure out if all the new features and power is worth the cost. Dually owners opinions would be great as well as any new '17 owner (if any would be great). Thanks!
wow, I hope that is not the case! My 2016 was the same as my 2011, and with both have about an inch to spare getting into my garage. I'd also think there would be a problem with many more 5th wheel trailers if it were 6" higher?
I have a '16 F350 DRW, and pull a 41' Raptor. I pulled it for about 3-4000 miles with a SRW, and would not go back for pulling big!! Just that much more stability! Yeah, the dually is more of a pain when parking in town; but in the parking lots, I just park further out and get by fine. I like the idea that if I want to haul a pallet of something, I can do it, no worries!! But that may be just me, also!

The dealer let him have the '17 over a weekend while he also had his '13 at home as well and he compared the height of the top of the tailgate as well as the height at the mirrors and there was considerable differences. His '13 was an FX4 and the '17 is not.
I may get him to some measurements at certain locations on his new truck to compare it to my '14.

Dually would be the most important reason to upgrade to the '17 otherwise I would just be upgrading to the same truck. Had also tossed around the idea of a '16 dually at a better price but do think a little more roomier cab with the flat floor would be nice too.
Towing any thing with significant weight and/or (wind) surface area, there is no doubt I would go with a dually. I'd say the difference is like going from bumper pull to a fifth wheel.
I went from a 2001 CCSB (with & without spring bars) to a 2004 CCLB (no bars) dually towing an enclosed 24' car hauler. The difference was incredible. The 'need' to really 'drive' just isn't there. Towing is effortless in comparison. I already had dually when I moved to bigger trailers. No reason to go dually for my current truck since I don't tow anything of size now. In fact, only have a diesel because I wanted one not needed one.
Need I say more ........ I drive this thing everywhere, great turning radius and pulls the 5th wheel like a dream....get a dually if you think you need it, great trucks!
ps. don't mind the date stamp, camera is stuck on that date

Cab height: F250/350 4x4 CC SWB - 2013 79.7/80.8 2017 81.5/81.3
Open tailgate to ground: F250/350 4x4 CC SWB - 2013 35.1/37.8 2017 38.1/38.0
I don't see a bedrail height listed. It appears that Ford for 2017 may have added the rear blocks to the F250's as they are about the same vs a couple inches difference in 2013, however the F350's from 2013 to 2017 are essentially the same.

I see what you are saying but he had both trucks in his driveway and my buddy is a very detailed oriented person and this was his comparison. Maybe the bed is deeper I am not sure. Mirror height or placement could be different as well with the new body style.
If money is not option then the '17 upgrade for aesthetic / technological upgrades is a no brainer (IMO). Latest and greatest to keep up with the Joneses!!
For me I went from hauler our horse trailer (10-12k) with my father-in-law's 08' F450 to my '11 F250 SRW and if I had to buy / when I buy again it'll most likely be dually...
