ForScan shows 8 PIDs, one for each injector giving real time inferred fuel injection quantity. It's kind of fun to watch when you get bored watching for traffic . But what I was really wondering was what happens during a regen. I am monitoring 1&2 (they all have about the same numbers normally), expecting to see the left hand one go much higher during regen. Haven't had a regen since I started monitoring these.
The real question is how does this change with the reflash for the regen TSB? Is there someone out there with the new flash, and the ability to monitor these?
On my sons DMax using an Edge he can monitor the injector balance rates on all 8 at once. You can tell from this info if you have an injector that's not keeping up with the others and needs replacing.
Not sure if it is the same. The Inj Quantity PID on ForScan shows a value in milliliters for each of the eight cylinders. They all track pretty closely in normal operation. Because the 6.7L has done regen by dumping fuel only in the left bank, I expect to see the left side injectors have maybe double the fuel going through during a regen compared to the right side. The flash for the regen rough running problems reportedly dumps fuel into both banks, so during a regen I would expect more fuel, but the same left and right. I say "reportedly" because as far as I know Ford has never said this in any official documentation, but people on the forum here claim it. I am looking to confirm this.
I've watched the fuel rate in Regen using Torque Pro and after the flash it does seem that the fuel rate is less. I wonder if I watch Balance correction for each cylinder.
