Axle breather
When I changed the gear oil in my 97 F150 I checked the breather hose but it's attached to some kind of valve located inside a bed rail. I pulled on it slightly but it didn't want to pop out. Would like to check to make sure it's open and clean but don't know how to get to it and don't even know what it looks like if I want to get a replacement.
I did some research and noticed a non-factory replacement is a plastic fuel filter with the hose connected to the top, clever.
