Super Duty shocks??
I sure hope Ford has improved the shocks on these trucks! With all the tough testing Ford does surely by now they see the need to upgrade the damn shocks!
I'm tired of spending this much coin on a truck and get a pos shock Ford is somehow passing inspection on year after year, would had thought the testing team would had noticed it in 11' but NOPE my 16' is the very same.
Ford WHOEVER is over your shock program needs to be fired and has surprised me your team has let this issue go on as long as it has!
Hire me I can do a better job!

I'm sure there a lot of owners that feel the same way I do about these factory branded Rancho shocks!
Hopefully Ford has put some of our hard earned money into something we don't have to replace soon after you get the truck..
There are countless of people that have been complaining about these shocks for years, come on Ford !
Time will tell I guess..

Yea all you have to do is a search here and see ALOT of complaints on these "rancho branded" Motorcraft shocks that Ford is putting on these trucks..
Just hope someone woke the guys up in the suspension dept for 2017...

Until you switch to a better shock you won't know how bad you have it. My truck seemed like it had too much caffeine and had a case of the jitters going over the smallest of bumps at 45 mph. The Sway A Way shocks made that a thing of the past. I subsequently found that the far less expensive Bilsteins were just as good.
The OEM shocks had maybe 5,000 miles on them. I had to almost give them away.

Well my 2001 F250 2wd LWB just rolled over 150000. Mechanic just told me the shocks (original) didn't appear to be doing much and I might think about replacing them. Truck is not used very often but the primary vehicle used to haul a 26' horse trailer gooseneck.
I note the mention of Bilstein - I would welcome any suggestions for replacements.

I have always used Monroe Gas Magnum shocks for replacements. I am sure the Bilstein shocks are good but the Monroe shocks are half the cost. In fact I just ordered a set of 4 to go on my '01 even though it is already sold waiting on my new truck. Fact is I will be driving it to California with the new owner and this thread reminded me how bad the ride is getting. Limited lifetime warranty although after 100K miles on the current set I would not feel right even asking.

I replaced the OEM shocks on my 2013 F-350 at 12,000 miles. They were complete garbage.
I replaced the OEM shocks on my 2015 F-350 at 2,000 miles. Again, complete garbage. Over one year later, two of the shocks still won't expand! I keep them around for fun.
In both instances I replaced them with Bilstein 5100s, certainly not the most expensive upgrade. Even so, it is truly a night and day difference, - especially if you tow anything.

Yea I really like the Fox series shocks also.. I wished Ford would put better shocks on these trucks, surely the engineers see this with all the testing that's done on the trucks..
Either there on a budget or someone is dropping the ball on the engineering side. Hopefully the shocks on the 17's will be better quality..
