Hey boys and gals, truck lovers of all ages! I have a 1990 F-250 SCab-LB that I love to death. It is a replacement for my 08 SD with the 6.4L that gave me problems. On my 08, I had a 6-inch lift and 37-inch tires and it was a capable off-road machine.
I want to be able to do trails in my 1990 F-250 without catastrophically damaging the truck components. What are some upgrades I could do to it that DOES NOT involve lifting the truck?
I just want to make trails and minor rock crawling (very minor, probably barely counts) possible without completely destroying my truck or lifting it.
Junkyard might have skid plates or just watch the big rocks, stumps etc. Locker or posi, good tires, winch. Air compressor if you have to air down a bit.

I have a 1990 f250 std cab long bed. 460 engine. Im like you, i want a rig that i can go exploring but nothing to hard core. What ive done is install a factory transfer case skid plate, rear lock rite, HD diff cover, rear d ring mounts, in bed tire carrier for more ground clearance, 5 gallon jerry can in bed. Also have a toolbox with external mounted hi lift. Theres more but i wont bore you with it. All of these are nice to have but are not nessesary.

Mine has the skid plate already.
I've been looking into getting ARB or Mag Hytec diff covers but I'm not sure if they're worth it.
Where did you buy the tire carriers and Jerry Can mounts?! I've been putting my cans in my tool box and it takes up so much room!
I also bought rain gutter mounted bars and a cargo basket so that'll help also.
