Hi, this is my first post. I am helping a "not-so computer savy" friend with his 32' (I think). He needs a frame for it, he has heard that you can use a 80's Ranger frame for it, and just needs minor alterations. Is this true? If not, is there any other options for a frame.
Thanks, I am sure I will have more questions soon.
I've seen a fiberglass '33/'34 on one in my home town. He has to stretch the frame to get the pickup to fit on it correctly. It shouldn't be that big of a deal, the brackets are pretty simple and can be easily reproduced on another frame. Hope this helps some, if at all.
The late 80's rangers wheel base came in 3 lengths to match the
trucks for the short, long and regular wheel base. In the manual
you have to cut 10 inches off of the back end of the frame and
seven off of the front the main thing is to get the right wheel
base to match your truck. I have also seen a Mazda pickup frame used. The 36 is 112.5 and I believe the ranger frame to use was the 112 wheel base. I am just going by memory as I have not looked at the manual in a while. I went with a stock frame as I found it was easier because all the aftermarket stuff is geared to it for dimensions and fit. I have a mustang II front and a triangulated 4 bar in the rear. Let me know if you need any more
help I could dig out the manual. I do not know the dimensions
for your truck but I would help you if I can.
