My truck just had the glove box door laying on the floorboard when I got it. All it has is 2 holes in it where it looks like a handle goes. I have done some searching online for a latch or handle and can't find anything that looks like it will fit.
Can someone post a picture or two of their glove box latch assembly? Is there anywhere to get a latch that will work?
Mac's has the part linked below, but it doesn't look like it will fit my glove box door in its current configuration. I can always weld up the holes and drill a new hole for this one, but I am hoping there is an easier route.
If I remember from some of the pictures you've posted, you have a '40-'47, from the cab interior shots. If so, you don't have a glove box door latch. These trucks used a C shaped spring to keep the door closed. If you look on the inside of the door, where the hinge is spot welded, you will see a little slot, one end of the C there, the other hooks into dash.
This is the inside of the glove box. The 2 screws that hold on the data plate also hold on the handle. The pencil is pointing to the location that one end of the C spring clip is inserted. The other end goes up over the edge of the hinge plate.

Great pictures. Thanks. I'll see if I can find a spring.
