Motor mounts 1952 F1

I have started working on a 52 F1 that I am putting a 302 engine and a C4 automatic transmission into. My son has purchased a cross member and motor mounts from Mid Fifties some time back. I have installed the motor mounts to the engine and have put the cross member in the truck frame. I have laid the engine and transmission in the frame to check for the drive shaft tilt and also see it the intake is level and it is.
My question is on mounting the cross member and the motor mounts is the bottom bolt for the shock mount suppose to go through the cross member and then you drill the other three into the frame? Another question is do you weld the pipe cross member to the plate you bolt to the frame or does it need to pivot with the engine torque?
Here are a few picks of what I am talking about I hope you can see.

Thanks in advance for any information that will help,
Larry

I can't say for sure about the shock/mount bolt through cross member plate question but That's the way I did it on mine. All the engine torque will and should be absorbed by the rubber motor mounts. I would weld the cross member sections together when you are happy with the assembly.

It may just be the angle of the pictures but be sure you have clearance from your tie rod when your suspension compresses. The design is such that the axle moves slightly forward when compressed.

Looks like you're well on your way.

What steering box do you plan on using. On my 1949 I used the Toyota power steering and had to move the motor and tranny over about 1.5 inch's to the passenger side so the block hugger headers would clear the steering box.
