Before paint

I have my fenders blocked sanded with 180 grit. I am going to top with one more coat of surface primer. Should I block sand with 600 or can I use my DA with an interface pad and 600?

Production guys use machines whenever possible to maximize their time and profits. If you're trying to make something nice, there's no replacement for hand finishing, imho. It's your call how proud you want to be of your work.

personally on fenders or any pieces that have a curve, or roundness I always block sand by hand, a DA will cause you to take more off than you want to on the edges, I will DA large flat sections, hood, doors, roof, trunk etc. No real advantage to rushing to save a little time when this close. I've been doing custom paint on and off since I was 15 years old (now 61) and I can tell you short cuts always bring me to the 1 step forward 2 steps back syndrome. Take your time, finesse it, you be proud of the results. Good luck. post a pic when you finish it..
