oil pressure

So I've read about what to do about low oil pressure readings from factory gauges. I hope the gauge is my only problem since the bottom end was replaced on my 1988 5.0 only 10,000 miles ago. My question is, how do you avoid having the factory gauge trigger the engine light? Thanks!

Basically, I read that they are highly inaccurate and that you should replace the sender with a manual aftermarket gauge. Mine registers zero after warm up even though I've replaced the whole lower end AND put in a high pressure oil pump.
