Engine cool down?
After towing or even long drives (hours) how long should I let the truck idle so the turbo/ engine doesn't get ruined?

In you manual, page 13: 3 to 5 minutes.

By the time that it takes to get off the highway, find a fuel island or parking spot, you are good.

I thought I remembered reading something like that.
I tried looking for the diesel supplement manual for the truck to download and couldn't find one.

One caveat to this.
Heavy towing I don't shut down while fueling. I will shut it down after fueling to go in and pay.
It takes closer to 15 minutes to get the EGT's down when you have been towing for several hours.

Getting technical now...-20 would probably need the motor running to keep your buns from freezing.

This is kind of one of the things that common sense should be used.
Sometimes you don't dare turn off a running a motor in the cold for the fear it may not restart.
