The guys at Spartan are BETA testing SOTF options for the '13-16 guys. The hardware looks like it came installed from the factory. Looks really promising. Here are a few pics:
Yepper. Both physical and computer. Spartan can fool the computer side but when the inspector pops the hood and looks under the truck it fails without the DPF and EGR. I have a buddy who knows a place yada yada, but I'm not going to chance that lasting forever. The only real way to do it would be for me to use block off plates but leave the EGR in place. Then drop the DPF, cut a hole in it on the top, hollow it out, weld a plate back over the hole, and put it back in. Not exactly what I want to go through.
Apparently Bullydog will have their 2016 update for the 40928 tuner ready at the end of the month, SOTF. I have one on the shelf, along with stainless delete components and block off plates. Woohoo!!
Not sure who bought who, but I'm glad there's a SOTF option or two. I hate the SCT plug in to tune etc, had many of those over the years. Ill be looking for a custom tune option too.
The new Spartan stuff has been getting rave reviews. I have tuned a couple new trucks with them and was very impressed with the shifting and power.
I really like the updated stuff they have done for the '11-14 trucks. They are also back offering full custom tuning again.
The only problem with Spartan is they won't write a tune for you without your VIN. A little too big brother for me. If they get busted like H&S and get the screws turned on them, your VIN goes to Johnny Law and a "random" inspection might come your way. Not a risk I'm willing to take.

Understandable. I know the guys personally and feel like I am in good hands. The behind-the-scenes stuff that has recently been going on with the EPA is more than most know. With that said, I don't worry about
The H&S guys made the LML and 6.7 PSD guys turn in VINS for MCC unlock codes. We all know what happened to them, yet no owners were given up or reprimanded that I have read about.
I'm sure you're right. I just hate looking over my shoulder. I also just can't get past why every other company can write custom tunes without a VIN. Oh, and I also inquired about a tune a couple of times and they couldn't bother to respond to my messages. Also, not a good feeling.

I have talked to Jeff in great length about your last gripe. Matt seems to have his full attention back to tuning.
