Question New poster, with serious ECU issues

I am a new poster, own a 1990 F150 4.9 six EFI with a 4 speed w overdrive. the original ECU was replaced about 5 yrs ago and the replacement has gone bad. the numbers are not available. So where do I start to get the right one back on my truck? It only runs under 30 mph, so difficult to get around. Help

Sounds like it could be in Limp-Home Mode. I suggest asking in the 87-96 forum:
