I'm searching for the steel bed strips for a "platform" or flat bed. The info I have on the Ford Model AA strips show the cross section to be 1.56" wide and .35 tall.
Could someone measure their bed strips from a later bed to see if the diamentions are the same.
This will help me to broaden my search if I'm looking beyond the model a ford community.
Thanks Mark. It might behove me to mill the sides to be able to use the pickup strips.
Finding a set of used pickup skid strips may be easier than the model aa strips.
Thanks Ross,
I might be dreaming.....used bed strips may be hard find!
Mar-k offers the length I need. I think I'll go with unpolished SS and lightly brush it to blend into the bed wood.
Thank you for the diagram with the dimensions. I am preparing my own wood but didn't buy my metal strips yet. This helps me to know how wide and how deep to cut the troughs for my strips.

If I were you, I would get the strips you want before cutting your own wood. I ended up cutting my grooves deeper because I think the stripes were to high up. Depending on what you want to see when things are done, you could get fancy or different wood as well.
