I am looking at purchasing a vehicle out of GEORGIA - they do not title cars older than 1961 and this is a 1947 and I will get a bill of sale and a GA registration document. Does anyone know if KY will accept that. I have calls into FRANKFORT but that is just a typical govt mess to get an answer. Thanks

 

The bill of sale, as long as it's notarized, (Georgia is a Notary State) and the registration should do it.

I bought my 50 in Georgia with just a bill of sale. You won't have any problem getting a KY title.

 

One option no one ever thinks of, or at least mentions, is you can always register a vehicle in the state you are buying it. I know it will cost you more money, but when you bring it home it is already yours in the eyes of the government and you can register it in your home state. This is no different than moving from one state to another and switching your vehicles over. It will eliminate a lot of the red flags that seem to rear their ugly heads when we need them the least.

Just another idea when the paperwork is not ideal per the person at DMV that really don't care about us, our cars or hobby.

 

Thanks Doc & Dave I just wasn't sure about how KY would be. Title problems are the last thing any of us need when dealing with these old cars/trucks. I'll post pics if this really happens. Thanks again.
