Y block/C4 adapter 1955 F250 questions

Anyone make this swap and with what adapter did you use?
Any suggestions, thoughts, problems, etc. will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you. Chris

I thought there was a one year only setup when the last year of the Y-block overlapped with the first year of the C4.

38 Coupe, Just looked it up on the web and you are correct. In 1964 292 Y Block f100s came with the new C4 automatic 3 speed.
Greenmachine55, I have, but have not installed, a Flat O adapter The Flat-o-Matic be sure to get the "truck" version because the car version doesn't have the bell housing motor mount ears.
I believe if I had to do it again I'd look at an adapter like Ford Y-Block Transmission Adapters which gives you more automatic transmission choices.

bjmayberry2....thanks for the info....when do you think you will get to installing the adapter? Or...did you want to sell your Flat-o-Matic to me and get yourself the other adapter?

Like I told a guy the other day "Everything's for sale for the right price.
I actually bought one on Fleabay only to find it was for a car. Sent it out to Flat-O (Gene) to have the truck ears welded on but he has since changed the design and didn't have anymore of the old type ears. Bottom line I now have one of each.
