is is the first for product I have ever owned always been a GM guy always been a busy body guy Roadmasters caprices impalas and what not. My family is growing so I needed something larger I chose an 03 Lincoln Navigator when I bought the car it shifted hard from 2nd to 3rd but aside from that seemed to be a good truck. About 2 weeks ago I drove the truck from my home in Maine to Boston Mass and back over a two day. About 4 hours each way on the way home I got stuck in some stop and go traffic slowed to about 5 miles an hour for about 15 miles. After that I never regained overdrive continue driving up I 95 by the time I hit the Maine border it was apparent that there was an issue I pulled to the side of the road shifted through the gears and I seem to not have reverse as well. Continue driving as didn't have much for options on a Sunday afternoon after I left the last toll plaza she had all she could do to get out of 3rd when I get to my town I started taking back roads and about 2 miles before I got home noticed a large portion of smoke rolling out the rear end I gave her all she had got it the last 2 miles home where there was transmission fluid I believe trailing up the rear and all over the exhaust causing the smoke. Once I got it into the driveway I let it cool for about 20 minutes and then tried to shift through the gears. it sounded like marbles in the transmission which led me to believe bad transmission I sent have parked the truck. I bought a new transmission today and decided why not try starting the truck and see what would happen just for fun. The transmission shift and final for a5 mile drive with no hesitation and still had reverse I'm at a loss and asking for your advice. These foRds seem to have me over a barrel.
