i while ago i came across a post that ford was increasing (free of charge ) the HP and Torque of the 6.7 for the owners of the 2011 first gen 6.7 with no limit on mileage . to 400hp and 800 torque My question, is this true or false ?
it true what is the TBS # or a place i can find the article. Thanks
Sorry I can't answer if it was an automatic update or if you had to ask for it... I always assumed it would be an automatic thing that was done if the truck was at the dealer for anything else. But, you know what they say about assuming.... I'm sure someone who knows more than me will chime in soon....
It was an automatic update and you can tell if you have it by looking to see if you have the tranny gear numbers displayed in the command center when you press the +/- button on the transmission shift ****.
Trucks with the original 385hp do not display the gear numbers
It will automatically update with any of the recalls. So assuming the truck went in for any of several recalls that involved updating the software, you got the 400 HP update.
Still waiting for the 500 HP update on the 2015's....
I finally talked my dealer's service dept into pulling an OASIS on my truck this past Feb. The original owner had an 'automatic' uprate at 6117 miles on Oct 30, 2010 when a couple other nigglers were fixed. It has ~72000 miles now.
ford has told me many times that i have
all the latest update to the PCM , so why does my scan tool read 736.8 ?
well Thursday the truck goes back again for a new turn signal lever , i will give them the PDF files and see what happens THANK YOU kper05 for the files

If your gear numbers reappear each time you start and shift to drive, I know you at least have this update. If you've had other updates over the years, you would have received any previous updates at that time as well.
