I just got this truck, it has a 351w. The fuel tank selector switch doesn't work, I only get fuel and gauge readings from the front. Anyone have experience from fixing this?
I suspect the problem is with the tank selector valve (located beneath the cab on the frame rail, someplace around the back of the driver's side cab) and not the switch itself.
If you have a volt/ohm meter you can run some tests and see where and when you get voltage; the below is from the 1981 EVTM and 1980 is known as a one-year-wonder concerning wiring but I *think* this particular stuff didn't change from 1980 for 1981:
