Time to rebuild a 351 W bottom end
This is not my first motor, but my first Ford build up. I want quality parts for my Ford. Any suggestion would be appreciated.
If you plan on reving beyond 5500RPM on a regular basis I would at least use forged pistons.
The oil pump can be standard as well so long as the bearing clearances are within close tolerance. If you end up with clearances on the wide side then a H/V should be used.
The most important parts of a reliable rebuild is quality machine work and VERY clean assembly. Take your time and measure everything at least 3 times, you won't regret it.
On a side note, I prefer file to fit moly rings, I don't trust those pre-gapped ring sets. Just let the machine shop know what kind of rings you are going to use.
