m5r1 tranny troubles
Hello everyone,
This is my first post here and hoping some one could help me out. I have an 88 ranger with a 2.3l 5 speed. 2 wheel drive. Truck has 79866 original miles on it. Last week I was on my way home from work and pulled up to a stop sign. I took the truck from 4th to 1st, let the clutch out and she just sat there idling. With some help from the guy that runs the tire shop here, we pushed to his parking lot. All gears gave same issue. My first thought was the slave cylinder gave out. So I called a buddy with a trailer and took it home. Now that it is at the house, it will not shift into any gear at all. Push the clutch in and try to put in any gear and it will not come out of neutral. Im thinking bent and/ or broken shift forks. Any body have any ideas? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
