i've done the searches and can't find any answers. i've got a '76 f150 with an np203 married transfer case. i was going to do the conversion, but last night it wasn't sounding very good. would i be able to find a married np205 and bolt it right on? or are the bolt patterns different between the two. also, if i get a junkyard np205 is there anything i should change beside just the main seals? any other advice?

I would keep the 203 because the 205 will not just bolt up... and I would save the reduction box off the 203 and run a doubler with a 205. Then you will have 2 low and a 3.97 crawl ratio with all gear driven parts.

 

so if the 205 doesn't just bolt up to my c6, what would have to be done if i were to go that way? (besides customizing it on my own)

Do you want to run the 203/205 doubler or just the 205?

For the 203/205 doubler there are many companies and people that mate the 2 together for about $450 and up

The 203/205 doubler is almost the same size as the 203 you have already....you may need new driveshafts but you probally would with the new t-case anyways...

To run just a 205 you would have to find a C6 that had a 205 to begin with an make sure that they have the 31 spline input/output....
