Rollin' oil...
My '95 7.3 is rolling smoke. Not the good stuff, either. On acceleration, I blow quite a bit of blue smoke. It's not getting hard to start, so I don't think it's a problem with a ring. Where does that leave me? Oil somehow getting into the air/turbo? I've heard that a CPS malfunctioning can cause this. Can anyone verify that, or give me another idea? It runs fine, and pulls hard, I'm just a touch concerned about it.

Next question- If I do have oil in the outlet/exhaust, should I be worried about damaging my turbo if I drive it? Or is it something that I can drive it for a few days until I can fix it? Also, I just did my EBPV delete. Could it be caused by one of the O rings under that no setting right?

That's what it's starting to look like. Any guesses as to whether it'd be safe to drive it until I get the kit, or not?

How long ago did you do the delete? Did you remove the butterfly? If so did the smoke start after that? If not was there an oily residue inside the exhaust outlet?

If it is the turbo seal I wouldn't drive it. If the seal completely goes you take a chance of destroying the center section and causing the compressor when to make contact with the housing sending metal into the engine. This is worst case but it's not worth the chance over 1-200 in parts

Moose- I did the delete probably a month ago now. It smoked a bit before, but got markedly worse now. I have an oily residue clear to the back of the tailpipe.
Fordpride- Well, crud. Thanks for the info. Would a bad seal cause shaft play, or would that be more on a bearing? I have basically zero shaft play.
