There are many offerings concerning this matter. My truck is slow to start, the tach does not bounce (no movement until it starts), but it does run with what I feel is less power than what the truck should be putting out.
I have read, if the CPS is bad it can be slow to start and the tach will not bounce.
I have also read if the tach does not bounce, the truck will not run.
Can anyone give me some clear answers on this matter, or is this wishful thinking?
Thanks!

Does the engine crank slow, or cranks normal but takes awhile to start? Your tach should read as soon as you start cranking, if not change the cam sensor. Quick test unplug the ICP sensor, passenger side valve cover, careful not to break the tab that locks it on, if it starts right up, you have a bad sensor or a problem with the HPOP. Is a scan tool available? Oil clean and full, remove the plug from the top of the HPOP reservoir, oil should be a half inch from the top, if the check valve is stuck when the truck sits the oil in the reservoir is draining back in to the engine and it takes for ever for the main pump to fill the HPOP all the lines, heads and injectors. Give that a shot and keep in touch.
The oil in the HPOP is closer to 1" from the top. Oil is clean and full.
I checked the ICP for oil leaks and oil soaked pigtail last week and no sign of leaks or deterioration of pigtail. I did not try to start with it unplugged. I will do that tomorrow. Based on the numerous postings about the tach not bouncing when cranking I ordered a OEM CPS #F4TZ-12K073-C which also based on numerous postings is noted to perform better than the one called for my model. I should have it by Thursday.
The engine cranks at normal speed.
Thank you for your quick response.
I bet you got a weak signal from the Cam sensor, but test the ICP, when you unplug it the computer subs a number 1500psi, you only need 500 to start, so you can eliminate that quickly. good luck
David,
I unplugged the ICP Sensor and it started in about 3 revolutions which is about half of before. I am going to install the CPS I have coming and then will attack the ICP.
Thanks,
