Ford stock speakers are usually 5x7s. However, the mounting openings can fit the larger of the two speakers. You just need to be able to line up with the mounting bolt holes that Ford provides. A fair number of the 6x8 speakers have slotted mounting holes so you can play with their positioning and get them to fit.
Mine came with 6x8. Check the fitment guide at Car Audio Stereo - Car Subwoofers - Car Amplifiers and Speakers I ordered the 6x8 and they fit the factory hole and mounting screw holes perfectly. I have Rockford Fosgate Prime series 6x8. Their prices are hard to beat as well.......
Yup. Pretty much any 5x7 or 6x8 will work. If you are using the stock head unit, find something with a high sensitivity rating (above 89dB) as the stock head units are really low on power.
I Just put the Helix Blue B57X when I redid my entire system. I am really happy with them. They are said to work well with the stock head unit. I ran them for a while with the factory head unit before swapping that out. Now they sound super good.
