Our 2004 F250 SD looks like it needs a transmission replacement/rebuild (5R110). My son has been getting help already in the forums and things are pointing that way.
I've located a couple in a local dismantlers. One is a 2004 with flange yoke, the other is a 2006 with slip yoke. (ours appears to be a flange yoke.)
From what we have learned the early transmissions had issues which were resolved later, so all things being equal we would prefer the 2006.
So the question is - if we get the 2006, can we swap the yoke from our existing transmission? If so, does it just pop out or does it need to be released internally?
thanks in advance,
Barry
