2012 Dual/ Larger Replacement Fuel Tanks
Hey guys wanted to see if anyone can help me with an idea I have had since I bought my truck. I have a 2012 f250 crew cab short bed 6.2L flex 4x4. I have the stock 28gal fuel tank and want to replace it with either a larger replacement tank or add a second tank probably where the spare tire is located. My problem is that all the replacement tanks and secondary tanks are for diesel only and I cannot find someone that makes one for my year gas. I also saw that ford offers a fuel tank selector switch and I wanted to see if anyone had this on their truck, where the second tank is located, and when was the tank put in and by whom. I have found a company that will make custom aluminum tanks but you need to design them for them and I have no clue on how to do that or how to properly plum this thing...any help would be appreciated.

I was speaking to a sales rep from Titan recently who told me that the only reason their tanks aren't for gasoline is that they're vented to atmosphere instead of using the evaporative emission system on the gas trucks. In other words, they'll work fine if you can hook up all the evap hoses, etc.
I'm not sure how much truth there is to it, but that's what I was told. And Titan tanks are a lot less expensive than transfer flow.

There are apparently 2 size tanks a smaller one that is 27/28(cant remember which) and the other is 35. I have looked at transfer flow but for this year range nothing is offered for gas for something that is not in the bed. Ill have to look into the titan a little more and see about the evaporative system or if there is something else. Ill also have to look into the excursion idea as well and see what the dimensions are and what may possibly be in the way. Thanks keep any other ideas coming.
