I've been driving this truck for a couple of weeks now and as suspected it's a little hard on gas. I can't believe they only put one 19 gallon tank on an F-250! Anyway I have done a little searching and found a couple of options, one being the Bronco tank which I am not ruling out but I like the idea of having duel tanks (and two fuel pumps). If I were to find a parts truck with two tanks, does anyone know if my truck would be wired for duel tanks?
What I mean is sometimes vehicles ar sold with a harness that has the wiring for all the whistles and bells but they are not always installed. Is there any chance that this would be the case for my truck? I'm wondering how much trouble it' going to be to put in duel tanks and have it as factory as possible.
One thing to think about is that you can eliminate some potential problems by just having one tank...such as one tank leaking into the other which from what I hear is fairly common.
In addition to wiring, there will be plumbing of the other tank. It will probably be a fairly good sized job and not much benefit as far as I can tell. I would just stick with one tank.
I recently had just one 16.5 gallons tank ,I took it out and put in a 32 gal tank for a bronco , had to relocate the spare tire to the bed but it works great no more filling up everyday.
