You should have a Dana 60. You can confirm by looking at the pumpkin housing. Its on the passenger side of the pumpkin. If you see a 248 cast into the house, its a D60. If it is a 229, its a D50.
Ok we'll yall tell me what you think about this. Found the mile marker manual hubs. It showed 2 part numbers from them for that year...but neither of them fit. Inner splines fit one of them but not the outer and the other it's the opposite outer fits but not inner? Has anyone had this problem? Would warn hubs have this issue? Part numbers were 449s/s and 459s/s.
The 449 is a 30 spline, the 459 is 35 spline. 99-04 use 30 spline stock but can be converted to 35 spline. 05+ have 35 spline from the factory. Ignore the dana 70 part, they are making that up.
I'm not sure what you are seeing with the inner/outer shafts. On a D50, they are 30 spline inner, 30 spline outter. D60 35 spline inner, 30 spline outter. Perhaps you got a mixed box with one 30 spline and one 35 spline lockout. Warn does make lockouts too. I have Warn 35 spline lockouts on my 00 with a Dynatrac freespin kit and Dynatrac 35 spline lockouts on my 95 with upgraded shafts.
I picked up both since was unsure and figured take back the one I didn't use. The 30 spline the inside fit but not the outer. The 35 spline the outer fit but the inner was too big would even touch the shaft. On the 30 the splines were too thick on the outer and would match up to what's on the truck. So I may just have to try warn.
Something weird is still going on. Many people use Milemarker, they aren't high end but they get the job done. Post some pics especially with the ends of the shafts so we can count splines and stick a ruler next to them if you can. I can't help but think some terms are getting mixed up and I can't picture a reason for pulling the shafts to change the lockouts. Also, out of curiosity, are the lockouts your replacing OEM or aftermarket? As for terms, there are 4 shafts. Here's a random Google image.
Top right is the driver side inner which is 35 spline on the D60. Second from right is a outter shaft, it is identical to the outter shaft on the bottom left and 30 spline. Second from the left is the passenger side inner which is 35 spline.
